The SC80×50 Standard Pneumatic Air Cylinder is a heavy-duty double-acting pneumatic actuator designed for industrial automation, conveyor systems, packaging machinery, clamping equipment, material handling and general pneumatic applications.

Featuring a large 80 mm bore and 50 mm stroke, the SC80×50 provides high output force with a compact short-stroke design. Its robust SC-series tie-rod construction offers excellent rigidity and durability for repetitive industrial operation.

The cylinder uses compressed air to control both extension and retraction, providing positive movement in both directions. With approximately 251 kgf theoretical extension force at 0.5 MPa, it is particularly suitable for applications requiring strong pushing, clamping, pressing or positioning force over a short travel distance.

Double-Acting Operation

The SC80×50 incorporates two pneumatic ports. Compressed air supplied to one side of the piston causes the piston rod to extend, while compressed air supplied to the opposite side causes the rod to retract.

A suitable 5/2-way solenoid or directional valve can be used for control. Flow-control valves can also be installed to regulate extension and retraction speed.

Theoretical Output Force

At approximately 0.5 MPa operating pressure, the 80 mm bore cylinder provides approximately 251 kgf theoretical extension force.

Actual available force will be lower depending on air pressure, internal friction, piston rod area, load alignment and installation conditions. An appropriate engineering safety factor should be used when selecting the cylinder for a machine.

Installation Recommendations

Use clean, filtered compressed air and pneumatic tubing and fittings rated for the required system pressure.

Ensure that the cylinder is securely mounted and correctly aligned with the load. Excessive side loading on the piston rod should be avoided to reduce premature wear of the rod, seals and internal components.

For industrial machinery, confirm the required force, stroke, operating pressure, mounting arrangement and cycle rate before installation.

Note: Dimensions are based on the supplied SC80×50 reference product and technical drawing. Small variations may occur between manufacturing batches. Verify critical dimensions before fabrication or permanent installation.
