The SC80×200 Standard Pneumatic Air Cylinder is a heavy-duty double-acting pneumatic actuator designed for industrial automation, conveyor systems, packaging machinery, material handling equipment, clamping systems and general pneumatic applications.

Featuring an 80 mm bore and 200 mm stroke, the SC80×200 provides high output force combined with a longer controlled linear travel. Its robust SC-series tie-rod construction uses a durable aluminium cylinder body, strong end covers and external steel tie rods for reliable performance in repetitive industrial machinery.

The double-acting design uses compressed air for both extension and retraction, providing controlled movement in both directions for pushing, pulling, positioning, clamping and automated machine functions.

Double-Acting Operation

The SC80×200 uses two pneumatic ports to control movement in both directions.

Compressed air supplied to one side of the piston causes the rod to extend, while air supplied to the opposite side causes it to retract.

A suitable pneumatic directional or solenoid valve can be used to control the cylinder. Flow-control valves may also be installed to regulate extension and retraction speed.

Theoretical Output Force

At approximately 0.5 MPa operating pressure, the 80 mm bore cylinder provides approximately 251 kgf theoretical extension force.

Actual available working force will normally be lower because of seal friction, pressure losses, piston rod area, load alignment and other operating conditions. An appropriate safety factor should be used when selecting the cylinder for machinery.

Installation Recommendations

Use clean, filtered compressed air and pneumatic tubing and fittings rated for the required system pressure.

Ensure the cylinder is securely mounted and correctly aligned with the moving load. Avoid excessive side loading on the piston rod to reduce premature wear of the rod, seals and internal components.

Note: Dimensions are based on the SC80×200 reference drawing and should be treated as reference dimensions. Verify critical dimensions before fabrication or permanent machine installation.
