Double-Acting Operation
The SC40×100 uses compressed air on both sides of the piston.
When compressed air is supplied to one port, the piston rod extends. When air is supplied to the opposite port, the rod retracts. A suitable pneumatic directional control valve, such as a solenoid valve, can be used to control the movement.
Installation & Operating Recommendations
Use clean and filtered compressed air and ensure suitable pneumatic tubing and fittings are selected for the operating pressure. Flow-control valves can be installed to adjust extension and retraction speed.
The cylinder should be correctly aligned with the moving load to minimise side loading on the piston rod. Appropriate cylinder mounting hardware should be selected according to the application.
